WARNING: THE FOLLOWING POST CONTAINS MATERIAL CLEARLY STILL UNDER IINVESTIGATION BY THE STATE.
AS SUCH POST OR PURPOSE FOR THE WRITING THEREOF CANNOT BE PURPORTING OR EVEN BE PURPORTED TO BE MAKING ANY PREMATURE CONCLUSIONS OR FINDINGS PREJUDICIAL TO ANY PARTY. OPINION OVER THE CURRENT CLIMATE OF STATE-SPONSORED VIOLENCE UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF MR JACOB ZUMA AND IMMEDIATE PREDECESSORS IS NOT UNINTENTIONAL THOUGH, EVEN AS IT COMES IN AN UNAPOLOGETIC MANNER. HOWEVER, THESE ARE OPINIONS OF WRITER AND WRITER ONLY: NEVER BHEKI SIMELANE'S OR ANYBODY ELSE MENTIONED IN THIS POST. IF THERE IS A PURPOSE FOR THIS POST, IT IS THAT THE STATE OFFICIALS HANDLING MATTERS OF VIOLENCE AGAINST INNOCENT CITIZENS EVEN SENIOR CITIZENS LIKE SIMELANE WHO FOUGHT FOR SOUTH AFRICA'S DEMOCRACY SHOULD TAKE SUCH MATTERS SERIOUSLY AND NEVER BE SEEN TO BE SWEEPING SUCH UNDER THE CARPET.
South Africa is still a backward society despite the end of apartheid 19 years ago; and the leadership of Jacob Zuma is not helping the situation either, I declare!
Qualified backward not because I wish to be anti-my-own-land or that the people or their government is in fact intrinsically backward... no, that is not what I am saying. But state-sponsored violence by the Mandela-, Mbeki- and now Zuma-regimes are common knowledge and nobody should even begin to start it with me that I am being imaginative.
Remember the bizzare but gory incident of mowing down workers in Marikana not so many moons ago?
Remember the alleged fatal dragging by self-same police of a man behind a truck for a minor infraction of traffic rules hardly a fortnight ago?
Seen my previous post where I source the origins of South Africa's current violence spear-headed by the state under Mr Zuma back to his intelligence management of exile camps?
Once again coming back to more recently or a decade ago to be precise, I myself was subjected to physical assault by an entire brigadier general of the South African National Defence Force for "the crime" of awaiting a complementary salute when I stood on the latter's impromptu office orders at his notorius Army College of Promotion Throgh Fornication for well-connected military officers under the commander-in-chiefship of Mr Jacob Zuma and predecessors Mbeki and Mandela.
The man (Drost) who falsely charged me in 2001 over and above assaulting me is still working with Mr Jacob Zuma's support while I the whistle-blower am forever suffering a suspension and a life under threats of further violence against me, all for my daring to blow the whistle on Zuma-state-sponsored corruption in the South African Army.
|
But this is all griss for the mill, isn't it, for a man Zuma who has as of his forties in exile been one of the kingpins of violence and torture for all those who opposed the Nguni (particulalry Zuma-Master-Mandela's Xhosa speaking tribe). And if you missed those videos here I kindly repeat them for you so that you understand why under this man South Africa has become so intolerably violent
SIMELANE'S FATE HAD ALWAYS BOTHERED PHIRI
Even though I had always known that this is a violent society (and so sponsored by the Zuma leadership style in the nation)...
Even though I had always agonized about Simelane's safety where he seems to be winning his court opponents hands down by means of his intellectual muscles...
Even though I myself had been (over and above the assault by the Army Brigadier General Drost in 2001) been invaded in my home by six heavily armed soldiers ordered by Mandela cousin Templeton Temba Matanzima ['per Jacob Zuma's express orders that Phiri should be assassinated for exposing corruption in the South African Army spearheaded by Mandela's relatives (or so-self-styled) like Brigadier General Zini Bobelo']...
I had always hoped the day shall never dawn when I will in fact hear Simelane's life has been threatened by violence for his beliefs that corruption in the in the South African Army and elsewhere in the Republic should be exposed.

But having read what details Simelane could offer in Year 2013 of
ON ITS ‘CRIMES AND COURTS’, the IOL on-line news agency
reports per title “State attorney probed over ‘assault’ on MK veteran” (dated
22 July 1012) AS FOLLOWS:
July 22 2012 at 03:50pm
By CANDICE BAILEY
Comment on this story
The Director-general in the Department of Justice and
Constitutional Development is investigating an allegation that one of its state
attorneys attacked MK veteran Bheki Simelane during a meeting in his office.
Apart from the assault, Simelane – who has been in a
six-year battle to get political amnesty – alleges that state attorney Ben
Minnaar also threatened to withdraw state-funded legal fees in two of his
current court battles and to cancel his Truth and Reconciliation Commission
process altogether.
Simelane is the father of axed National Prosecuting
Authority head Menzi Simelane.
Justice director-general Nonkululeko Sindane took up
Simelane’s matter after he wrote to the office of the president and deputy
president, the chief justice, the judge president of the Labour Appeal Court,
the secretary of defence, the secretary of military veterans and Sindane,
reporting his alleged assault.
Department spokeswoman Phumla Sekhonyane would not comment
on the allegations of assault on Simelane, but confirmed that Sindane had met
him and his legal representatives, and that there was a pending investigation.
“The director-general made certain commitments, which
includes the further handling of Mr Simelane’s long-standing matters and the
allegations of assault,” she said.
Simelane had allegedly gone to see Minnaar to arrange a date
for a cost order, which he was granted in 2009 as part of an access to
information case he had launched against the Natal Law Society.
He asked the society to provide him with the documentation
relating to him being struck off the roll, which he said needed to be presented
before the amnesty committee considering his application. The costs order could
not be granted at the time of the initial order, as the documentation Simelane
had asked for first needed to be provided.
The origin of Simelane’s political amnesty bid dates back 28
years, when he allegedly defrauded paralysed car accident victim Martha Mkhize
of a R50 000 payout from the Road Accident Fund. He was struck off the roll of
attorneys at the time.
In 2007, after appealing against the refusal of his amnesty
application, Simelane was granted a new amnesty committee.
But before he could appear before it, he needed the
information from the law society. He alleges that Minnaar assaulted him so
badly that he ended up in hospital.
“I want to finalise this access to information case. But we
are being stopped from finishing the matter,” he told The Sunday Independent
this week.
“Six years have already passed and nothing has happened.
These are all the things that I need to finalise before I die. I need to get my
life in order.
“I am now waiting for her to come back to me. She said she
would come back to me after having a preliminary investigation done by the
chief litigation officer, Kay Pillay,” Simelane said this week.
A Pretoria police spokeswoman, Sergeant Ann Poortman,
confirmed that a case of assault was being investigated at Pretoria Central
Police Station.
“There are still some elements of the investigation that are
outstanding before it can be handed over to the director of public prosecutions
for a decision on prosecution,” said Poortman.
